“Now I really had to work to keep up with Kees.”
Richard ran the 2025 Utrecht Singelloop 10km with his son in 45 minutes 40 seconds. The comfortable early pace gradually quickened, making it hard to keep up, but he accelerated over the final 500m.

Ik moest nu mijn best doen om Kees te kunnen volgen.
Read the original on Richard Rent“I'm really pleased with the result and the mindset I maintained over the past few weeks and during the race. I was able to run at an even pace.”
Despite missing long-run training with a knee injury, the runner maintained an even pace at Singelloop Utrecht and finished their first half marathon in just over 1 hour 45 minutes. With no knee trouble afterward, they were pleased with the result and their mindset during the race.

Super tevreden dan ook met het resultaat en de mindset de afgelopen weken, maar ook tijdens de race. Mooi vlak kunnen lopen.

The Utrecht Singhullof is a Dutch road race that runs along the canals and parks surrounding the city center.
Organizers introduce this competition as the oldest distance running event in the Netherlands.
Although it has been a long-running competition,
it still focuses on the city's waterways and opens up the familiar streets and green spaces of the region to runners.
The section running along the canal and the section passing through Wilhelmina Park are connected,
so you can experience the waterside path and the park scenery at the same time.
The representative event, the long-distance road race, and the shorter distance, Kids Run, will be held together.
Corporate participants can also run as a team, so runners competing for personal records and their families and colleagues gather at the same city event.
Representative course goes through distance measurement by the Netherlands Athletics Federation and records his/her performance through electronic measurement.
Participants will check their records and share their experience of running around Utrecht's canals.
The competition also has the purpose of helping cancer research and the lives of patients.
We support KWF's cancer-fighting organization and encourage participants to create their own fundraising page and connect their donations to their run.
It is a way for an individual's completion to lead to support for their family or people around them.
Course through the city's canals and parks, bringing together the long history of distance running,
the participation of children and corporate teams, and raising money to fight cancer.
The Utrecht Singhullof is an event where multiple generations run through the city's living spaces.
This may change for the next edition.

The Dutch OV-chipkaart is the standard local transit card,
but foreign contactless Visa/Mastercard bank cards can tap directly in and out at NS train gates and on buses/trams across the Netherlands,
so a local card isn't needed for a short visit.
Single fares are distance-based, roughly EUR2-4 for short hops.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
General participants who choose to collect on-site will receive bib at Jaarbeursplein.
For children's events, race day pick-up locations are divided into Sterrenbos,
so if you are participating as a family, please check each person's pick-up and start locations separately.
The regular event starts in Jan van Foreestraat and Croeselaan, with the final in Catharijnesingel.
It's a good idea to walk from the pick-up location to the starting area and plot a route back to your locker after completing the course on the official map.
There is a changing area and lockers available at Jaarbeursplein.
Lockers can be reserved in advance on your personal dashboard, and only the remaining quantity can be used on site.
Regular bags, excluding hydration bags, cannot be brought into the departure area and must be stored first.
There are restrooms in the start and finish areas.
The main areas of Utrecht Centraal can be accessed on foot, so taking the train or bike is recommended.
Bus routes and access to city car parks may vary due to traffic restrictions,
so if you choose to drive, check the official traffic information for detour routes.
Times are local to Utrecht. Check the latest official information before the race.
