The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
The Wizz Air Skopje Marathon is North Macedonia's largest running festival and takes place in the capital, Skopje, in early October each year.
It holds both a World Athletics label and AIMS certification.
The programme comprises full marathon, half marathon, a marathon relay and a 5km race.
The start is outside the Parliament of North Macedonia and the finish is at Macedonia Square.
The finish time limit is 5 hours 30 minutes for full marathon, half marathon and the relay, and 1 hour for the 5km.
Eight aid and refreshment stations and five medical stations operate during the race.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Now we did speed up, we felt strong and we entered sprinting and holding hands.”After getting through the early congestion, the runner ran on wide, flat roads. They enjoyed the frequent water stations, music, and support from local residents, then accelerated at the end while holding hands with their running companion.
“Course is flat.”A first-time Skopje half marathon participant described the flat course and the difficulties in the latter stages, and reflected on the preparation process.
“The rain was cooling things down by then, but I couldn’t find any extra strength over the final 2 km.”
Anton Reiter struggled with the heat and declining energy on the second lap, then finished in 5 hours 16 minutes in the rain near the end.

Der Regen schafft nun Kühlung, aber auf den letzten 2 km werde ich keine Bäume mehr ausreißen.
Read the original on Marathon4You“I felt really strong throughout the entire race, which I wasn’t expecting.”In a first half marathon, the runner enjoyed the course past the city's landmarks, along with the music and support from local residents. The runner was impressed with the water-station operation and course cleanup, and pushed hard over the final 5 km to finish faster than the target.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Course starts on Dimitrija Čupovski Street near Macedonia Square, crosses the Vardar River on the Stone Bridge and continues along Boulevard Ilinden.
It then loops around Metropolitan Teodosij Gologanov Street before returning towards the start and finish area.
Half marathon runners finish there,
while full marathon runners continue towards Jane Sandanski Boulevard before turning back to complete an approximately 21.1km loop.
Full marathon runners complete this loop course twice.
The course is presented as a flat, fast course through central Skopje and is also an internationally certified course.
This may change for the next edition.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.

Bib pickup runs October 1–3 (Thursday–Saturday), 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Diamond Mall shopping center.
You'll need to show the QR code emailed to you on September 30 or a copy of your ID (passport for international runners),
and anyone carrying those documents can pick up your bib for you.
There's no pickup on race day.
The timing chip is a single-use tag stuck to the back of your bib,
so there's nothing to return—but if you fold your bib or peel the chip off, your time won't be recorded.
Pin your bib to the front of your shirt where it's clearly visible.
The full marathon, half marathon, and marathon relay start at 8:05 a.m. on Dimitrie Chupovski Street in front of the Parliament building,
while the 5K starts separately at 8 a.m. near the Red Cross of Macedonia.
You need your bib to get into the start area, and runners enter in this order: full marathon, half marathon, then first-leg relay runners.
Full and half marathon runners are split into four start corrals based on the goal time chosen at registration.
Corral 1 is for under 3:10 in the full or under 1:40 in the half;
corral 4 is for 4:01 or slower in the full or 2:01 or slower in the half.
The full marathon has balloon-carrying pacers every 15 minutes from 3:00 to 5:30.
One lap equals the half marathon distance, so half marathon runners can tag along too.
There are eight aid stations serving water and fruit, and your entry fee covers gear check and toilets at the start, at the finish, and along the course.
The finish is next to Porta Macedonia on Macedonia Square, and the awards ceremony takes place at 12:30 p.m. on the square's stage.
If there's an error in your result, you must report it by email within 48 hours of the race.
Times are local to Skopje. Check the latest official information before the race.
