The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
It is the 11th running of the Sky Island Trail race.
It runs some of West Texas's most beautiful and demanding singletrack.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“We had done it!”At the Sky Island 25km, the runner and her husband endured tough climbs and blisters to finish in 5 hours and 1 minute. After rough, rocky trails, they crossed the finish hand in hand.
“I plan to try again next year and train better!”In the Sky Island 50km, confusing early course markings and rocky mountain trails exposed gaps in their training. They finished despite leg cramps on the last climb and, although disappointed with the time, were satisfied to complete a tough race.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
