Race is held at Staunton State Park near Pine/Conifer, CO, in the foothills off Highway 285 — a rural mountain state park with no bus or rail service. Normal and expected for this rural Colorado foothills state park trail race venue.

Pine, Colorado is a small mountain community in Jefferson County with no dedicated transit card system; the trail race venue is reached only by car via US-285. Denver's RTD uses the MyRide card system, but RTD service does not extend out to this rural venue.

October in Pine averages 3°C, so the cold is a factor.
Plan for a longer indoor wait before the start so you do not cool down, and it is safest to bring gloves, a beanie, and a neck warmer.
Public transportation does not reach the race venue.
A personal or rental car is the only practical way to get there.
Registration is handled through the RunSignup platform.
Ultras are decided by fueling and foot care, not speed.
Break in your shoes and socks well before race day, and if there is a night section, bring spare batteries for your headlamp.
The 07:30 start is early.
Counting back from your wake-up time, breakfast, and drive, staying near start line the night before will be more convenient.
