“As usual I hit a huge wall around mile 10.”

At the Long View half marathon, the runner enjoyed views of Longs Peak and Boyd Lake along the flat course from Fort Collins to Loveland. Mutual encouragement with another runner helped them through a rough patch at 10 miles, before crossing finish hand in hand with their children.

“What an incredible day at the Long View Marathon this last Saturday up in Fort Collins-Loveland.”

Getting to the start

Marathon start: Edora Pool Ice Center (EPIC), 1801 Riverside Ave, Fort Collins, CO — 7:30 AM start. Point-to-point course finishing ~13 miles away in Loveland, CO.

No confirmed pre-race shuttle to the start. No public transit link; a rental car is effectively required since start and finish towns are ~13 miles apart.

A free shuttle bus runs from finish to the departure point from 10:00 to 14:00.

Post-race only: free shuttle buses run 10am-2pm FROM Fairgrounds Park (finish) BACK TO the start locations — useful for retrieving a car left at the start, not for getting TO the start.
