Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“My highlight was that I beat my personal goal, and even got 4th in my age group!”Sarah Garza finished the 10 km event at the 2022 Spokane Marathon in 54 minutes 21 seconds, beating her goal and placing 4th in her age group. She liked the moderate hills and uncrowded field, but not the climb before the finish.
“Much of it follows the Spokane River and was very calming.”At the 2006 Spokane Marathon, the runner adjusted their pace rather than pushing too hard because their muscles felt shaky. The runner enjoyed the riverside scenery, but the hills in the second half and uneven surfaces after 24 miles were difficult. The runner finished in 3 hours 39 minutes 25 seconds.

The Spokane Marathon is a race that connects the riverside and pine forests of inland northwest Washington state.
The winding path along the Spokane River and the Centennial Trail form the center of the official course introduction.
The start and finish are located around the North Bank Park shelter, with the race starting within the city and continuing into the river and forest landscape.
Since it is course, which includes roads and sidewalks, urban roads and riverside trails meet within one game.
Full marathon is course, which is certified by the American Association of Track and Field, and can be used for Boston Marathon qualifying records.
Official course is also available for half marathon and 10km, and 5km and Kids Run are also open.
In addition to completing the long race along the river alone, there is also a team relay where you run the same route as full marathon.
If you follow the relay section guide, Apriver Dam, nearby Gonzaga University School of Law,
and the Military Cemetery trail entrance appear as key points along the route.
These places show the spatial extent of full marathon along the river.
The introduction of the event emphasizes the challenge of recording and the opportunity to run through the nature of the inland northwest.
Official viewing directions include the carousel at Riverfront Park,
the Centennial Trail next to Olmsted Brothers Green Park, and east of the Seven Mile Bridge.
The race takes place along parks and riverside living spaces,
and is a competition where you can experience the scenery of the same area at different lengths depending on the distance you participate.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
GMC of Riverfront Park (636 E Sprague Ave, Spokane) — October 10 (Sat), 10:00–15:00
North Bank Park/Riverfront Park area is served by Spokane Transit Authority (STA) routes, including the Downtown/North Bank Shuttle (Route 11, ~every 10-20 min) plus Routes 6, 25, 26, 27, 28
Race-day start is at North Bank Park;
Saturday packet pickup is at GMC of Riverfront Park, in the same STA-served downtown core.
Spokane is a genuine urban transit market - downtown/Riverfront Park area is well served by multiple STA bus routes, unlike most other races in this batch.
Same downtown/North Bank area, served by the same STA routes
Source did not specify a finish location distinct from the start/downtown area.
No organizer shuttle found;
the public STA bus network covers the downtown/North Bank core.
Spokane Transit Authority (STA) uses the reloadable Connect Card (physical card costs $5, or a free virtual eConnect Card in the STA Connect mobile app for iOS/Android);
cards/passes can be bought at the STA Plaza downtown, online, or in the app.
Standard fare is $2.00 per ride, and spending $4 in a day (two rides) triggers fare capping for unlimited rides that day —
contactless bank cards are not yet directly accepted, so visiting runners should get a Connect Card or use the app.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
It is best to schedule the package to be received at GMC of Riverfront Park, the pre-distribution location.
Proxy pickup is possible, and distribution near start line on the morning of the game is limited to participants with unavoidable circumstances.
For same-day parking, parking is provided on surrounding roads, Spokane Arena parking lot, and Riverfront parking lot Lot 1.
Since the distribution location and stadium are different,
it is a good idea to remember the order of receiving bib first and then moving to the North Bank Park event area.
You can leave your luggage at the race village near the finals.
If you bring your own bag, the staff will provide you with a wristband-type marker with bib written on it,
and you must show bib both when leaving it and picking it up.
The village has supply, portable toilets, and hand washing facilities, and in course,
water, sports drink, gel, and jelly supply stations are placed approximately every 3 to 5 km.
You can also use restrooms near each supply station.
When crossing the road, it is best to follow the instructions of the control agent and course guide.
Times are local to Spokane. Check the latest official information before the race.
