ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

The event takes place at Santa Teresa High School in New Mexico, with five events starting one after another that morning: a 50 km cycle,

a 40 km gravel race, a 5 km run/walk, a 1-mile family walk, and a 1-mile dog walk.

Now in its 21st year and organized by the El Paso Holocaust Museum, proceeds from Entry fee support the museum’s educational programs and outreach initiatives.

All participants receive a T-shirt, water bottle, and breakfast.

Getting to the start

No public transit — car required

Starts/finishes at Santa Teresa High School, 100 Airport Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008. Santa Teresa, NM is an unincorporated border community in Doña Ana County, outside El Paso Sun Metro's fixed-route service area. Note: this event is actually a cycling ride (BikeSignup), not a footrace, though that doesn't affect the venue/transit answer.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

The 2026 race takes place on August 16.

The 40 km gravel race starts at 7:00 am, the 50 km race at 7:30 am, and the 5 km run/walk and 1-mile walk and dog walk at 7:45 am.

Online registration closes at 2:00 pm on August 15 (Mountain Daylight Time).

Race-day registration is not available.

On-site registration is available only during Packet Pickup,

and Packet Pickup takes place at the El Paso Holocaust Museum from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on August 14 and from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on August 15.

T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed.

Entry fee costs $55 for the 50 km and 40 km races, $45 for the 5 km, and $35 for the 1-mile walk and dog walk.

Participants aged 17 and under pay reduced fees of $45 for the 50 km and 40 km, $35 for the 5 km, and $20 for the 1-mile event.

Virtual participation and Shadow Supporter registration each cost $45.

Teams of five receive $5 back when they register for the 50 km, 40 km, 5 km, or 1-mile event Entry fee.

The 50 km cycling, 40 km gravel, and 5 km run are competitive events, with awards for the top finishers in each event.
