It is held at the Sly Park resort area in Pollock Pines under a special use permit from Eldorado National Forest.

The course runs along equestrian trails through pine forests surrounding Jenkinson Lake.

It is held three times a year so runners can experience the same course across different seasons.

Held under a special-use permit in El Dorado National Forest, this is the summer round of a series based at Sly Park Recreation Area.

Several distances, including a 50K, follow pine-forest equestrian trails around Jenkinson Lake.

The distinctive feature is that the same course can be experienced in every season, with three editions held each year.

Entry fee start at 55 dollars.

Same venue/logistics as the Fall edition: starts at SCALES PARKING LOT, 4771 Sly Park Rd., Pollock Pines, CA, Sly Park Recreation Area. $5 day-use parking fee (cash).

Remote Sierra foothill national forest venue, no public transit — car access only. Confirmed exact date match: Aug 22, 2026.

Getting to the finish

None — remote forest venue

Longer distances finish at Waterfall Trailhead; runners walk ~0.5 miles back to Scales lot afterward.

Transit card

No dedicated transit card system; Pollock Pines, CA (Sly Park Recreation Area in the Sierra Nevada foothills) has no public transit. Car access only for both the Summer and Fall Trail Run at Sly Park events.
