From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“It got hot, so the last 2 aid stations I put ice in my buff.”Stephen used the 2024 Trailway 50 km to prepare for a 100-mile race, switching to power-hiking after the first half. Cooling off with ice in his buff as the heat rose, he finished in 6:47, placing 19th among 34 runners.
“I was really happy with this race.”Stephen mostly ran the first lap of the 2023 Trailway 50 km, then power-hiked the second to manage the heat. With ice in his pack, he kept moving to finish in 7:38, building confidence for his next 100-mile race.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
