“The course was a nasty bugger!”RileyCook completed the 2012 Utah Marathon in 2:51:38. The course climbed for roughly the first 18 miles and descended over the final 6, but they said the last 8 miles were extremely painful.

The start and finish are at Oakley Rodeo Grounds.
The course runs on Summit County ranch roads at an elevation of 6,500 feet, with the Uinta Mountains on the horizon.
The roads are closed to through traffic, and parking is available inside the grounds.
The marathon starts at 7:30 am and must be completed within 5 hours 30 minutes, while the half marathon starts at 9:00 am with a time limit of 4 hours.
The 19.65-mile Merikos is this event's distinctive distance: longer than the half marathon and shorter than the full marathon.
Merikos starts at 8:00 am, the 10K at 9:30 am, and the 5K at 9:45 am, with a time limit of 5 hours, 4 hours, and 3 hours respectively.
Water, Gatorade, and packaged snacks are provided along every course.
After finishing, you can receive food and snacks, a finisher medal, and a commemorative Tri-Blend performance shirt.
The event is organised by Old Dominion Racing, which has held races in Virginia, Maryland, and other locations.

Because course is run at an elevation of 6,500 feet, you need to set a more conservative opening pace than your usual race pace.
At the course aid stations, you can get water, Gatorade, and packaged snacks, but it is best to bring the amount and familiar products you need yourself.
Bag check and toilets are available at the start and finish venue.
You can consider the Park City Sheraton, which is 20 minutes from the start, as an accommodation option.
Oakley Rodeo Grounds is at 4300 North State Road 32.
On-site parking is available, and no shuttle service is provided.
You can collect bib from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm on 25 September at Salt Lake Running Company, 2454 S 700 E, Salt Lake City.
On race day, collection is available at the grounds from 6:30 am until before the start of each event.
Adults need photo identification, and shirts are not guaranteed for people who register during the final week.
