Lê Hùng CườngRan in 2024

Lê Hùng Cường, the Vietnamese men's winner quoted in the 2024 organizer's results article, recalled traveling overland to Laos for about 30 hours before competing. He said he raced with local runners until the half marathon mark, when one of them fell back in pain and he took the lead alone.

2024 race-day operations

These are the times and locations for the past edition, as listed in the official race guide.

  • Pick up your bib and race kit at Lat Laeng Market on November 2, 10:00–18:00.
  • The full marathon and half marathon start at 04:30 on 3 November; the 10km starts at 05:00, and the 5km at 05:15.
  • The time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes for the full marathon, 3 hours 30 minutes for half marathon, 2 hours for the 10km, and 1 hour for the 5km.

Luang Prabang Old Town course

According to the 2024 course announcement, the course repeats a 10km loop.

  • The start and finish are near the Luang Prabang National Museum and the entrance to Wat Phousi.
  • The 10km and half marathon/full marathon courses use mostly the same loop; half marathon repeats it twice, and the full marathon repeats it four times.
  • The 5km has a separate route. Check the official image on the event page for the course map.
