Getting to the start

No public transit station near start. Marathon starts at 29817 Biosphere Road, Oracle, AZ (remote desert location); half marathon starts at Oracle Rd/SaddleBrooke Blvd. No parking allowed at start.

Runners must take organizer bus from finish line to start; there is no walk-in or drive-in access to the start.

No public transit station near finish. Finish/parking/shuttle pickup is at 1830 W. Overton Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704.

Finish area doubles as parking lot and bus departure point.

Organizer pre-race bus transportation from finish (1830 Overton Rd) to start: marathon runners board 5:00-5:20am, half marathon 5:15-5:35am; both races start 6:40am (per prior schedule pattern, confirm current year times on-site).

The Wicked Fast Marathon accepts entries through RunSignup, with the marathon and half marathon marathon held together.

Course starts from a high point on Biosphere Road near Oro Valley, then descends across the Sonoran Desert.

The first 6 miles feature gentle rolling terrain to ease runners in, followed by a long, fast descent via North Oracle Road and the Chuck Huckelberry Loop.

With a net elevation loss of 1,432 feet (approximately 436 m),

it is promoted as a course well suited to runners targeting a personal best, just as its name suggests.

Another notable feature is that it is recognized as a Boston Marathon qualifying course without a time penalty.

After finishing, runners can enjoy Tucson's laid-back finish-line atmosphere, including free beer.
