In Stanford at this time of year, mornings and midday feel very different: it's cool in the start line,

but the second half puts the sun right in your face, so a hat can make all the difference over the last 5km.

There is no public transportation to the venue, so plan on driving your own car or a rental.

Registration is handled through the RunSignup platform.

In full marathon, most runners fall apart in one place: around 30km.

Thirty seconds banked in the first half can save five minutes in the second.

Don't skip aid stations; take a little at each one.

The 07:00 start is early.

Once you work backward from wake-up, breakfast and travel, it's easier to stay the night before close to the start line.
