It is a one-way mountain ride starting from Winter Park Resort and entering the city.
The Winter Park 50K is a high-altitude trail ultramarathon that starts and finishes at Rendezvous Park at Winter Park Resort,
in the heart of Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
The starting elevation already reaches about 8,773 feet, so the race itself presents another challenge for lowland runners: altitude acclimatization.
Course climbs gently at first through evergreen and aspen forest, and open ridgeline views of the Continental Divide open up already in this section.
From there, it continues with a dynamic mix characteristic of Winter Park's terrain —
flowing singletrack, rugged mountain trail, and fast-running unpaved road sections in alternation.
The total distance is about 31.7 miles with roughly 4,370 feet of cumulative elevation change,
a high point of about 10,800 feet, and 85% of the course is unpaved.
It's considered a textbook example of a Colorado mountain race in which a ski resort transforms into a summer trail running venue.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Winter Park Resort base area — nearest transit is the Winter Park Transit Center in downtown Winter Park, connected to the resort by "The Lift" free local shuttle bus
Race starts at Winter Park Resort base; The Lift shuttle runs between the Transit Center and the Resort on event mornings (schedule confirmed for a nearby July event at the same venues, exact hours for this race not separately confirmed) Winter Park, CO also has seasonal winter-only Amtrak (Winter Park Express) and year-round Bustang/Greyhound intercity bus to the Transit Center.
Rendezvous Event Center at Hideaway Park, downtown Winter Park — served directly by The Lift's "Hideaway Park Southbound Stop"
Finish is in downtown Winter Park at Hideaway Park; The Lift stop there connects to lodging and dining within town
The Lift — Winter Park's free local shuttle bus — connects the Transit Center, Resort, and downtown Hideaway Park; used for a same-venue July race but exact race-day schedule for this event not separately confirmed
Winter Park, Colorado is a ski-resort town with a free local shuttle bus ("The Lift") that requires no fare card, but reaching Winter Park from Denver requires a car or rideshare, and there is no IC-style transit card system in the area.

Because the highest point of course reaches approximately 10,800 feet above sea level,
this high-altitude event requires runners accustomed to low elevations to allow time for acclimatization.
Eighty-five percent of the entire course is unpaved, with a mix of singletrack and mountain-trail sections, so trail-running shoes are essential.
Colorado's summer mountain weather often brings afternoon showers and thunderstorms, so carrying a waterproof jacket in your pack is recommended.
Times are local to Winter Park. Check the latest official information before the race.
