Course links mountains, the sea, lakes, islands and the city.
There is one event: half marathon.
The race is organised by the Xiamen Municipal People's Government and technically certified by the Chinese Athletics Association.
Operations are handled by Xiamen Wanguang Sports, part of the Xiamen Broadcasting Group.
The race is held each year between November and December.
It began as an independent race in 2016 and will mark its 10th anniversary in 2026.

RACE WEEK

We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
Half marathon course starts at the intersection of Xinggang Road and Jiaocui Road.
It follows Xinggang Road and Jiangang Road to Haicang Avenue, passes several auxiliary and main roads near Waitan Wharf and Waichao Road,
turns around at the turnaround point, and returns via Haicang Avenue, Jiangang Road and Xinggang Road.
Finish is the Haicang Sports Center track and field stadium.
The 6.6 km Fun Run course starts at the same point and follows Xinggang Road and Jiangang Road before finishing at the end of Haicang Avenue,
creating a shorter and simpler course.
The race began in 2014 as a side event of the Xiamen Marathon.
The first edition featured 5 km and 10 km health runs on Haicang Avenue in Haicang District,
while half marathon and the 10 km health run were added to the side-event program in 2015.
In 2016, the “Xiamen International Marathon Side Event” was upgraded to the “Xiamen (Haicang) International half marathon” and became an independent race.
From 2017 onward, the main Xiamen Marathon became the second specialized marathon in mainland China to offer only full marathon.
Haicang District is a 100-square-kilometer national-level investment zone at the southeastern end of the triangle linking Xiamen,
Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, southwest of Xiamen Island.
It was established by a State Council decision in 1989, bordered by Zhangzhou City to the west and Jimei District to the north.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Participant Packet Pickup pickup information has not yet been announced.
Chinese races typically announce the pickup location and time through their official WeChat account 1–2 weeks before the race; participants generally must bring their own ID, and proxy pickup is not permitted.
Metro Line 2, Ruanjianyuan Erqi Station (软件园二期站)
Search results returned primarily for the main Xiamen Marathon (not explicitly confirmed to be the Haicang half-marathon variant), starting at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center. Take Metro Line 2 to Ruanjianyuan Erqi Station, then ~1.4km walk to venue.
CAUTION: this info may be for the general Xiamen Marathon rather than specifically the Haicang district half-marathon, which may have a different route/venue. Treat as uncertain/possibly wrong race.
Metro Line 2, Ruanjianyuan Erqi Station
Course is a loop returning to the Exhibition Center (start=finish).
Temporary shuttle bus line 临2路 runs from Metro Lingdou Station Exit 4 to the venue.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race is held every year between November and December, at the beginning of Xiamen’s dry, mild winter.
By this time, Xiamen has completely left behind the hottest part of the year—July’s average temperature is 28.3°C—and frost is rare.
Snow is also highly unusual: the last recorded snowfall was in January 1893.
Course follows an out-and-back layout along Haicang Avenue, Jiangang Road and Xinggang Road,
while finish finishes at the Haicang Sports Center track and field stadium rather than at the start.
The route passes near Waitan Wharf and Waichao Road before and after turnaround point.
This race is also known for particularly strict bib management rules.
Since a fatal incident caused by proxy participation in 2016, cases have continued in which transferring bib to another person,
or wearing and racing with someone else’s, has resulted in a permanent ban.
Bib must be collected after identity verification and worn by the registered runner personally on race day.
Times are local to Haicang District. Check the latest official information before the race.
