The course starts and finishes at the corner of Avenida Chapultepec and Calle José Guadalupe Montenegro, a central Guadalajara intersection.

From there, the route passes Glorieta de los Niños Héroes and follows the avenue of the same name before continuing onto Avenida Circunvalación Agustín Yáñez.

The course heads toward Glorieta Minerva, the traffic circle anchored by the city's best-known statue and one of Guadalajara's most recognizable landmarks,

then passes Los Arcos del Milenio on the return to the finish.

Rather than following one straight boulevard, the loop moves through several of the city's major roundabouts, giving the course a series of distinct sections.

Road closures begin early on race morning and are lifted gradually as runners clear each section.

The course is typically fully reopened by midday.

Held in late August, the race coincides with Mexico's National Firefighters' Day on August 22.

COMUDE, the municipal sports body, organizes the event, which carries World Athletics Label certification.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Race morning has historically started early, around 6:00 a.m., which matters more than usual in Guadalajara's late-August climate.

The month's average high sits near 27°C (81°F) with lows around 16°C (61°F), and August falls within the city's wet season —

the region's heaviest monthly rainfall arrives in July, but August still carries a meaningful chance of rain,

so an early start helps clear most of the distance before the day's heat and any afternoon showers build.

The course's defining feature is its string of glorietas — traffic circles that double as the city's major landmarks.

Glorieta de los Niños Héroes and Glorieta Minerva both sit directly on route, meaning runners pass through open,

exposed intersections rather than shaded, narrow streets for a meaningful share of the 10 kilometers.

Kit and bib pickup for this race has historically been organized in the days immediately before the event, separate from any race-morning collection —

worth checking the specific dates each year rather than assuming same-day pickup is available.

Because the race is built around honoring Guadalajara's firefighters and Civil Protection personnel,

categories exist specifically for active-duty risk-management,

civil protection, and fire department staff, alongside the open field that makes up the bulk of the roughly 10,000-runner turnout.

Times are local to Guadalajara. Check the latest official information before the race.
