ABOUT.

The world's oldest annual marathon, which started in 1897. Hosted by the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.), it starts in Hopkinton and ends on Boylston Street in Boston.

COURSE.

The start is Hopkinton and the finish line is on Boylston Street in Boston. It is a 0.7 mile walk from Athlete's Village to the starting line. The starting order is: Wheelchair Men 09:06, Wheelchair Women 09:09, Handcycle/Duo 09:30, Pro Men 09:37, Pro Women 09:47, Para Athletics 09:50, Wave 1 10:00, Wave 2 10:15, Wave 3 10:28, Wave 4 10:41, Wave 5 11:01, Wave 6 It's 11:21. Participants are assigned a number based on their standard time, start with athletes with similar times, and must stand in their assigned wave and coral. Moving to the back waves or chorales is permitted except for the first chorale of each wave, but moving to the front is prohibited and may result in disqualification. course has 26 medical stations, portable toilets at each watering point, and distance signs every mile and 5km. The official finish line closes at 5:30 p.m. to begin the reopening of roads in the eight cities and towns that course passes through. Participants who finish after 5:30 will receive a finisher's medal, but will not be recognized as an official finisher in the final results and will be marked as 'Post-Race Participant', and their records can be checked in their account and app. After that time, the remaining participants in course are instructed to move to the sidewalk and safely complete the remaining distance. The clock installed at course shows the time and the finish line closing at 5:30 p.m. Beginning at 5 p.m., the American Red Cross will provide additional medical assistance and water from mile 22 to the finish line.

TIPS.
For water supply, Poland Spring bottled water and Gatorade are placed on both sides of the road every mile starting at the 2nd mile mark. There are three Maurten Hydrogel depots: 11.8 miles to the Wellesley border, 17 miles to Newton, and 21.5 miles just after Boston College. They offer both caffeine-free Gel 100 and caffeinated Gel 100 and CAF 100. Luggage storage is done at Boylston Street and Berkeley Street beyond the finish line, and only the transparent plastic bags handed out by the event at the Expo are accepted. Drop-off time is 05:45~09:15, pick-up time is 11:30-18:00. BIB Only the small 1-gallon starting area bag you receive at pickup can be taken to the race bus and Hopkinton. Baggage will not be transported from Hopkinton to the finish line, and any clothing left there will be donated to a local organization. The official bus to the departure point takes place on Charles Street between the Public Garden and Boston Common. Boarding start times are set for each wave, and the last bus leaves Boston Common at 09:30. You must show BIB when boarding. Parking in Hopkinton is provided on a first-come, first-served basis in the 52 and 80 South Street lots, and a shuttle to Athlete's Village runs from 07:00 to 10:15. After the game, a free bus from Boston back to Hopkinton will run from 12:00 to 19:00 on Columbus Avenue (Berkeley to Clarendon). Athlete's Village is located at Hopkinton Middle and High School and is equipped with Poland Spring bottled water, Gatorade, and portable toilets. You must show BIB to enter, and there is also a feeding area. Hopkinton has ample restrooms, so trespassing on private property is prohibited and anyone caught will be immediately disqualified and face legal action. To receive BIB, you must present your government-issued photo ID and digital BIB pickup pass in person during expo operating hours. Copies or digital copies are not accepted. BIB must be clearly visible on the top of outerwear, must not be folded, covered, or altered, and medical information and emergency contact information must be written on the back. At the finish line, you will receive Polish Spring water, a finisher's medal, a thermal blanket, Gatorade Endurance, a food bag, and medical assistance if needed.
