From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The Casablanca Marathon was a wonderful opportunity to feel the energy, warmth, and dynamism of a country gearing up for co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”Tomoyuki Kawabata took part in the 2025 Casablanca Marathon full course. Tomoyuki Kawabata vividly recorded the early-morning start in front of the Hassan II Mosque, the DJs and cheering groups, and the course passing along the coast and through the old city, as well as the local music and support from residents. Near the end, Tomoyuki Kawabata found the strength to pass through the finish line, where the mosque came into view again, and also noted the plentiful snacks and festive atmosphere.
“I ran the Casablanca Marathon without training last year, and it took me 5 hours 45 minutes.”
Abdellah-77 commented that he completed the Casablanca Marathon without training in 5 hours 45 minutes. He also shared the happiness he felt while running and the addictive nature of the experience.

Casablanca Marathon runners start on Boulevard Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, facing Regraga Street with the Atlantic directly alongside.
The opening kilometers trace the coast, with the El Hank Lighthouse visible in the distance before the route swings onto Boulevard de la Corniche,
running past Lalla Meryem and Aïn Diab beaches.
Around the 8-kilometer mark, the course turns away from the water and into the city along Boulevard Abdelhadi Boutaleb,
a stretch that continues to kilometer 11 with a noticeable rise in elevation —
the most sustained climb on an otherwise coastal route.
From there the route weaves through Casablanca's streets and parks before passing the Hassan II Mosque,
one of the largest mosques in the world and a fixture of the city's skyline.
Both the marathon and half-marathon share elements of this route, and a four-person relay format is also offered.
The 2026 edition marks the race's 17th running, organized by the Association des Coureurs du Grand Casablanca (ACGC).

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Casablanca's tram (2 lines) and busway network use a closed-loop rechargeable card system, not open-loop bank-card tapping.
The card costs 15 DH (valid 5 years) and each ride is 6 DH, with free transfers.
Ticket vending machines accept contactless bank cards (Visa/Mastercard) for cash-free purchase/top-up of the card or a single disposable ticket (~8 DH),
but the tap at the fare gate is with the transit card, not your bank card directly.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Refreshment stations are placed every 5 kilometers along the course, with solid food added to the mix from around the 7.5-kilometer point on —
a detail that matters for runners who rely on solid fuel later in a race rather than gels alone.
The race falls in late October, when Casablanca's Atlantic-moderated climate keeps temperatures milder than inland Morocco.
Average highs sit around 24°C (76°F) with lows near 17°C (63°F), and humidity typically runs high, near 82% for the month —
conditions often compared to coastal Los Angeles.
Rain is possible but not heavy: the month averages about 45mm spread across roughly five days.
The course's one real elevation feature falls between kilometers 8 and 11, as the route leaves the coastal boulevards for Boulevard Abdelhadi Boutaleb.
Runners pacing evenly along the flat coastal opening can expect that stretch to cost slightly more effort than the kilometers immediately before or after it.
Because the start sits directly on the coast facing Regraga Street,
wind off the Atlantic can factor into the early kilometers before the course turns inland past kilometer 8.
The high humidity typical of the month can also make the coastal stretch feel warmer than the air temperature alone would suggest,
particularly once the sun is fully up.
Times are local to Casablanca. Check the latest official information before the race.
