Chengdu Marathon

Runners start · local time — Elite athletes and marathon A/B/C zone athletes 07:30; Marathon D/E zone athletes 07:50; half marathon F/G zone athletes 08:10 (split gun starting method is adopted)

2026 Chengdu Marathon Official course: The marathon starts from Jinjiangyuan District, and ends at Seongdu Seongseong New Town, and half marathon is from the same starting point. Let’s go to Sikwa University’s Jeonggang Square. The main transit areas for both course are also provided in the official guide.

Start line is the Jinsha Site Museum.

Half marathon finishes at Sichuan University Wangjiang Campus,

while full marathon reaches finish at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Course passes through the tourist district of Kuanzhai Alley,

then continues via People's Park and the Chengdu Museum to Tianfu Square, the city's central plaza.

It then passes Chunxi Road Taikoo Li, the Tianfu Panda Tower, and Xinhua Park, crossing five districts: Jinniu, Qingyang, Jinjiang, Chenghua, and Wuhou.

The event traces its roots to a marathon organized by amateur runners on February 7, 1983.

After receiving international certification in 1986, it was known as the 'International Marathon.' On September 23, 2017, its name changed from the 'Chengdu International Marathon' to the 'Chengdu Marathon,' and that year is officially counted as the first edition.

In 2019, it was listed as a candidate race for the World Marathon Majors (WMM).

It is jointly organized by the Chinese Athletics Association and the Chengdu Municipal People's Government.
