Getting to the start

Start is near 271 W. Hancock Ave., downtown Athens, GA. No rail station; Athens Transit local buses serve downtown, with the Athens Multimodal Transit Center roughly a 0.5-mile (~10 min) walk from the start

Organizers recommend UGA campus parking decks (free weekends) or downtown partner hotels over transit.

Same downtown Athens area as start, walkable from the Multimodal Transit Center.

Organizer shuttles exist only for Marathon Relay participants, running from downtown Athens to relay exchange zones (legs 2-4);

no general runner/spectator shuttle to the start.

The Classic City Marathon in Athens, Georgia, offers a marathon, half marathon, and four-person marathon relay.

Based on the previous year, entry fees were approximately $125 for the marathon, increasing to $140 close to race day,

$90 for the half marathon, increasing to $105, and $240 for the four-person relay, increasing to $260.

Registration fees include a T-shirt and are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

The event was voted the “Best Marathon in Georgia for 2026” by FindMyMarathon.com users and is considered well regarded among local runners.

Registration is handled through RunSignup.
