The course is 95% unpaved and climbs over Pinnacle Mountain and Table Rock.

With approximately 16,000 feet of elevation gain over two 50K laps, it is the toughest cut-off point in the Upstate Series.

The target is Table Rock State Park in Pickens, South Carolina, a race that belongs to the "Upstate Race Series." The 50K,

called the "Foothills 50K," covers two loops, and the 25K, called the "Bear Crawl 25K," covers one loop;

about 95% of course is unpaved, climbing and descending Pinnacle Mountain and Table Rock,

resulting in a reported cumulative elevation change of about 16,000 feet.

The entry fee includes park admission, finisher finisher medal, a custom bib, live chip-timed results,

and a free race photo, and the first 100 registrants receive specially made running socks as well.

Part of the series' proceeds are reportedly donated to 28 local nonprofit organizations.
