RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
The Crailsheim half marathon (Burgberglauf) is a relatively young race, first held in 2019.
Its defining feature is a forest-and-meadow course through Burgbergwald in Crailsheim, Baden-Württemberg.
Participants can choose between the 21.1km half marathon, the 10.6km Viertelmarathon (quarter marathon), and the half marathon relay.
Course mostly follows unpaved paths between forests and meadows,
with approximately 180m of ascent and descent, giving it more of a rolling trail-race feel than a flat course.
The 'Burgberg' in the race name refers to a hill with castle ruins;
in fact, course is known to pass through the forest on this hill, creating the feeling of running through nature.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Crailsheim Hauptbahnhof (main train station), then Freibadbus line 62F or local bus 62/66/67 toward the pool
Start/finish is at Freibad Maulachtal Badwiesen (Badwiesen 1, 74564 Crailsheim).
Bus line 62F is a seasonal 'Freibadbus' running hourly to the pool via the Lise-Meitner-Gymnasium stop;
no walking-distance figure from the Hauptbahnhof was published, but the pool is a short bus ride from the station.
Official site's most recent confirmed edition is Saturday, June 27, 2026 (site notes the event moved to a Saturday afternoon/evening slot starting 2026).
No explicit public-transit directions were published on the organizer site itself.
Same location as start — race finishes where it starts
Loop-course event; finish is at the same Freibad venue as the start.
No dedicated organizer shuttle found;
relies on Crailsheim's regular city bus network (line 62F 'Freibadbus' plus 62/66/67).
