The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
The race is organized by Daegu Metropolitan City.
It is divided into elite and masters categories, with events including full marathon, 10.9 km and a healthy run.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Maybe it was the heat, but once I got thirsty, it was hard to keep running.”
At the runner’s second full marathon, they followed the 3:45 pacemaker but slowed on the climbs and into the headwind after 35 km. From 39 km, the runner alternated between walking and running. The heat and thirst were tough, but the runner improved on their time from their first full marathon.

더워서 그런지 갈증이 나니 뛰기 힘들었어요.
Read the original on 신웅의 이것저것“Fortunately, I endured with the support of Daegu’s residents and was able to finish.”
The runner completed their third full marathon at the 2026 Daegu Marathon. After starting in Group A, they made an early surge, and their legs grew heavy from 25 km onward, so they alternated between walking and running after 34.1 km. The hills in the latter stages and the distant baggage storage and shuttle boarding area were challenging, but the support from local residents helped them.

다행히 대구 시민들의 응원으로 견뎌내며 완주할 수 있었다.
Read the original on 네이버 블로그 · 여행길에서“It was one of those moments when finishing felt more valuable than the time.”
After a fast early pace, the runner's legs became heavy from 30 km onward, but the runner finished despite the gentle uphill sections and strain on the knees in the second half.

기록보다 완주 자체가 더 소중하게 느껴지는 순간이었습니다.
Read the original on 비앙키준 (Tistory)“As I ran through downtown Daegu, the traffic control was exceptionally well organized, the streets were clean, and the enthusiastic support from Daegu’s residents was especially moving.”
At the 2025 Daegu Marathon full course, the runner set a personal best, but fell short of their goal because of the cold, headwinds, and elevation changes in the latter stages. The runner alternated between walking and running after 30 km, and the hills after 35 km were especially tough. The runner thought the traffic control and support from local residents were excellent.

대구 시내를 달리면서 교통통제는 너무 잘 이루어졌고 거리는 깨끗했으며 특히 대구 시민들의 열띤 응원은 감동이었습니다.
Read the original on 네이버 블로그 · 여우집의 문화일상 아카이브“But I couldn’t find the bag-drop area.”
After 100 days of preparation, the runner finished a first full marathon within the target time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The runner was satisfied with the shuttle service, but wrote that finding the bag-drop area was difficult, and that the strong winds and aid-station locations differing from the course map were challenging.

Runners start · local time — (Sunday, 22 February 2026)
The event was first held on 23 September 2001 and became an international event in 2009.
It was officially recognised as a Silver Label event for 7 years from 2013, then upgraded to Gold Label status from 2023, maintaining Gold Label status for 3 consecutive years through the 2025 event.
It is organised by Daegu Metropolitan City and the Korea Association of Athletics Federations,
with Daegu Sports Council and Daegu Athletics Federation responsible for administration.
The 2027 course takes place around Gukchaebosang Memorial Park and central Daegu.
The events are the 42.195km full marathon, 10.9km and a fun run.
Because full marathon is a distance that is difficult to complete by adjusting pace only once,
you need a strategy that starts at a slower pace for the long-distance race through the city.
The 2025 masters field had 40,130 participants, showing the event’s substantial growth.
This may change for the next edition.
