Getting to the start

No public transit access; nearest station concept doesn't apply — rural trailhead

Start/finish at Mount Diablo State Park, Mitchell Canyon Trailhead, 96 Mitchell Canyon Road, Clayton, CA. Access via Clayton Rd to Mitchell Canyon Rd (dead-ends at trailhead).

Parking is $6/vehicle, exact change requested. Genuinely rural/remote trailhead venue with no public transit service at all — car access only via Mitchell Canyon Road.

Clayton, at the base of Mt. Diablo, is technically within the SF Bay Area's Clipper card zone, but the town and trailhead have minimal to no fixed-route transit service.

In practice this is a car-access venue; the Clipper card is only relevant if connecting through nearby Concord/Walnut Creek via County Connection buses or BART.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

During this time in Clayton, morning and day experiences are different.

It was cool in start line, but in the second half, you were directly exposed to the sun, so one hat made a difference for the last 5km.

The venue is an area without public transportation.

Plans are made based on the assumption that you will travel by car or rental car.

The place where it collapses at full marathon is usually in one place, around 30km.

The 30 seconds saved in the first half saves 5 minutes in the second half.

Do not skip water and take a little at each section.

Departure is at 08:00.
