THE DREAM
Following the 9th edition in 2025, the event reaches its 10th edition on October 11, 2026.
The course passes through green spaces and redevelopment zones in northern Mannheim, and as the city changes, some sections change slightly as well.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“After 17 kilometers, I could feel that I still had plenty left in the tank.”
At the 2025 Franklin Meilenlauf half marathon, the runner returned to racing after 2 years out with injury and met their goal in 2 hours, 13 minutes, 20 seconds. They kept the early pace under control and accelerated from 17 kilometers, though the aid station and distance markers were disappointing.

At the Franklin Meilenlauf half marathon, the runner covered the first 15 kilometers faster than planned, then maintained their pace to set a then-personal best of 1 hour, 39 minutes, 19 seconds. Entering Woods Memorial Stadium, they caught up with their wife, who had run the 9-mile event, and crossed finish together.

The FRANKLIN Meilenlauf is a fall half marathon in the north of Mannheim, Germany.
First held in 2016, it reaches its 10th edition on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Franklin, which gives the race its name, is a former U.S. Army base being redeveloped into a new neighborhood about the size of Mannheim's city center.
The half marathon is billed as the first fall half marathon in Mannheim, and more than 2,000 participants were expected in 2025.
Races are the half marathon, the 6-Mile Run (10K), the FRANKLIN Five 5K added in 2026, and a kids' race on Saturday the 10th, the day before.
The half marathon starts at 11:35 a.m. and the 10K at 11:45, with every race starting and finishing in front of the sports arena on FRANKLIN Field-Platz.
The finish closes at 3 p.m.
The half marathon course follows Birkenauer Straße toward Käfertal, then passes the SPINELLI site,
home of the 2023 Federal Garden Show, and its tree-lined avenue into Vogelstang with its two lakes.
It then goes through the renovated TAYLOR PARK, returns along the edge of the Käfertal forest, and does a loop inside the Franklin district before the finish.
Former sandy sections have been replaced with new paving, so the whole route is very flat.
With the new district still under construction, the course changes a little each year.

Bibs are handed out at FRANKLIN Field: 3–6 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, the day before,
and on race day, the 11th, from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes before each race's start.
Bag storage runs from 9 a.m. on race day next to the packet pickup area.
Online registration closed at noon on September 30, followed by late registration until October 9 and on-site registration on race day;
on site, the half marathon entry fee is 60 euros.
The course has two aid stations with water and sports drink and two food stations with energy bars and bananas.
The half marathon starts on the late side, at 11:35 a.m., so you can have a relaxed breakfast before heading over.
Mannheim in October averages a low of 6.6°C and a high of 15.6°C, with about 9 rainy days.
Parking around the venue is limited, so the recommended option is tram 5 to the Käfertal Platz der Freundschaft stop.
If you drive, you can use the BAUHAUS store parking lot, a 7-minute walk away.
From Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim Hauptbahnhof there are about 30 direct ICE high-speed trains a day, and the fastest take 31 minutes.
Times are local to Mannheim. Check the latest official information before the race.
