From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“If I get the chance, this is a race I would definitely like to run as a half marathon.”
The runner traveled to Geumsan on a morning of heavy rain and took part in the 10K. The runner finished after making their way along narrow riverside paths and through puddles, and said they liked the course of running alongside nature.

The runner set a personal best of 39:12 at the Geumsan Ginseng Festival 10K. On the narrow course, overlapping runners from other events broke up their pace, and the heat in the closing stretch didn't help. They missed their goal of breaking 39 minutes but still placed second in the 30s age group.

Race day 9/19 (Sat) 08:30 gathering
Gathering and the start are at the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo parking lot, with runners gathering at 8:30 am.
Geumsan is a small rural town with no subway or metro system, and no bus stop name was found.
The date was confirmed as 19 September 2026.
This race is distinct from the separate, earlier-season 2026 Geumsan Ginseng Wellbeing Marathon,
held on 14 March 2026 and hosted by the Gyeryong City Sports Council.
Venue and date information came from secondary web sources;
the official mara1080.com page is a JavaScript-rendered SPA and could not be scraped for static content.
The race is held in Geumsan County, Chungcheongnam-do, during the Geumsan Ginseng Festival.
Geumsan is a small rural town with no subway, so access is by car or intercity bus from Daejeon.
If you use local buses, T-money — Korea’s standard rechargeable transit card, sold at convenience stores nationwide — works throughout the region.
A single local bus fare is roughly 1,500 KRW.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
September mornings are cool, while the midday sun can feel intense.
Bring a light outer layer to take off before the start, along with a hat.
As this race has a half marathon, start the first 5 km more conservatively than your target pace.
The key is maintaining pace after 15 km.
As the race name suggests, Geumsan is known as the home of ginseng.
Korea’s largest Geumsan Ginseng Market is famous, and nearby Daedunsan Mountain is one of the region’s top autumn foliage spots.
Times are local to Geumsan. Check the latest official information before the race.
