None — rural state park, no train/bus/subway.

IMPORTANT LOCATION NOTE: this race is in Canton, SOUTH DAKOTA (not Michigan).

Start/finish is Newton Hills State Park, 28767 482nd Ave, Canton, SD 57013.

Rural South Dakota state park venue near Canton, SD (~20 min from Sioux Falls);

no public transit, car access only, and a park entry permit is required for parking.

Getting to the finish

Same as start.

50k runners are encouraged to park in the horse camp lot, roughly half a mile from start/finish.

A state park vehicle entry permit is required or you'll be ticketed.

Stations & transport near the venue

Glacier Hills Ultra 50K is held in a county park in Canton, a Detroit suburb;

while the wider Detroit metro area is served by SMART/DDOT buses (cash or DART reloadable card),

those routes do not reach this park, so the venue is effectively car-access only with free parking.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Course follows a 10 km loop within Newton Hills State Park, and the 50K completes five laps of this loop.

South Dakota is generally known for its flat terrain, but the Newton Hills section has frequent climbs and descents.

Because part of course overlaps with an equestrian trail, the 50K starts at 6:00 AM and has an 8-hour time limit, requiring runners to finish by 2:00 PM.
