A day you'll remember,

This night-time fluorescent race is celebrating its 8th edition and starts at 7 PM on Saturday, August 22, from Xingguang Avenue in Binjiang District, Hangzhou.

There is one event: 10KM, following the cherry-blossom-lined route along the Qiantang River.

Participants run along the river at night in fluorescent gear, with the riverside breeze blowing.

A 10km nighttime glow run along Xingguang Avenue on the Qiantang riverfront.

It is split into an individual division and a parent-child duo of 2 (1 adult + 1 child).

Runners wear glow gear and race through the river-breeze night;

the Entry fee starts from 88 yuan.

Hangzhou Transportation Smart Card (杭州通)

Metro station service counters and vending machines throughout the city; not typically sold at the airport in advance. Most visitors instead use Alipay's transit ride-code (set up before flying, passport-verified overseas phone number) or WeChat Pay's equivalent QR feature.

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above Alternative: Tourist Metro Pass (1-Day / 3-Day, also 5- and 7-day versions) 1-Day: CNY 15; 3-Day: CNY 40 (approx) — Rarely worth it -- single rides cost CNY 2-5, so unless taking 6+ rides a day the pass doesn't pay for itself; Alipay/WeChat QR is the practical default.

Hangzhou lags several other major Chinese cities in rolling out international contactless bank card acceptance at transit gates (unlike Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou) -- don't assume a Visa/Mastercard will tap through as of Aug 2026. Hangzhou metro and buses allow passengers to purchase and reload a Hangzhou Tong card at station vending machines.

International contactless cards and Alipay/WeChat QR ride codes can also be used directly at the gates. Fares start at about 2-3 yuan.

Jiangling Road Station is the closest transfer station to Xingguang Avenue.

Hangzhou Metro and buses accept Hangzhoutong cards purchased from station vending machines,

as well as contactless foreign bank cards and Alipay or WeChat QR ride codes at the gates.

Fares are generally 2–3 yuan.
