THE DREAM
This is the full marathon category, run through Hanoi's Old Quarter.
It's one of several distances held over the event weekend.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I also felt a sense of achievement, and it turned into a thoroughly enjoyable race!”
A first-time Hanoi full marathon runner looks back on timing sleep and meals for the predawn start, a downpour just before the gun, and running in wet shoes.

Read the original on note“I was satisfied that I did not walk all the way to the finish.”
After taking part in the Hanoi Marathon for 4 consecutive years, the runner lowered their pace because of heavy rain just before the start and calf pain in 2025. It took the runner about 5 hours and 30 minutes, but the runner was pleased to look back on finishing without walking until the end.

The Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race is a road race that introduces the history and culture of the Vietnamese capital through long-distance running.
The official name includes Standard Chartered, and it is a part of the international marathon series run in conjunction with DHA Vietnam.
Full marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km, and Kids Run are provided so that professional athletes,
recreational runners, and families can participate in the same event.
The organizers' goal of the competition is to promote Hanoi's old culture and the Vietnamese people to domestic and foreign participants.
The central space presented by the competition is Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
The official regulations explain that the route, which crosses the old city and connects several famous heritage sites,
conveys the capital's traditions, history and modern and contemporary memories.
In the introduction to the history of the competition, there is a cycle course that used Hoan Kiem Lake as the start and finish.
Hanoi Opera House, St. Joseph's Cathedral, Temple of Literature,
and Long Bien Bridge are also among the representative cultural heritages introduced by the competition.
The lake, old buildings, and city bridges, along with the running event, become the background for understanding Hanoi.
Exhibitions, community exchanges, and art performances are also held on game weekends.
Organizers link running with cultural events, allowing participants and citizens to experience the capital's iconic activities together.
The purpose is to expand residents' participation in long-distance running and to promote international exchange and local tourism through sports.
The Hanoi Marathon is a race that runs on a city's roads,
and is positioned as an event that introduces the cultural heritage and citizens' lives around the roads.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
This is another event category of the same Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race as Hanoi Half Marathon Heritage, so the pickup procedure is the same.
A QR code and original ID are required; proxy pickup is possible with online authorization.
The 2026 pickup date, time, and location have not yet been announced.
Based on the 2025 edition — expo runs Fri 11/7 to Sun 11/9 (operating hours not disclosed)
Quần Ngựa Sports Complex, 30 Văn Cao, Ba Đình, Hanoi (the 2026 venue has not yet been officially announced)
Buy the Hanoi Metro Card (72-hour tourist pass) for unlimited metro rides, and pay bus conductors in cash directly on board — no reloadable universal transit card covers both systems yet.
Quan Ngua Sports Complex, Van Cao St, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh district - same venue as the Hanoi Half Marathon Heritage listing, likely the same event registered under a different distance/source name

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Alternative: 72-Hour Hanoi Metro Card 150,000 VND —
Good value if you're in Hanoi 2-3 days and plan to use the metro repeatedly plus connecting buses (free transfers included).
A limited contactless bank-card trial (Visa, Apple Pay, Google Pay, VietQR) is running on metro Line 2A as of 2026 but isn't system-wide yet.
Buses are cash-only, paid to the conductor on board (~7,000-9,000 VND per ride).
Hanoi's metro network does not reach Quan Ngua Sports Complex,
so foreign visitors typically use ride-hailing apps (Grab, Be, Green SM Taxi) rather than a transit card.
City buses are cheap (about 7,000-9,000 VND cash fare) and the free Hanoi Bus / BusMap app helps with route planning, but has no unified tap card for tourists.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Race weekend is November 6–8, 2026, with the main race on November 8.
Registration is past the Super Early Bird and Flash Sale phases and now in the Standard Registration Phase.
Pin your official bib where it's clearly visible on the front of your body.
If you use gear check, don't peel off the matching-number sticker on your bib—you'll need it to collect your bag.
Leave valuables at home, and allow plenty of time to check your bag before entering the start area.
You can spot the pacer leaders by the balloons showing their goal finish times.
Times are local to Hà Nội. Check the latest official information before the race.
