“It felt so good to finish and see them, I couldn't believe it!”

At the Hixon 50km, the runner tackled a first running race after a training break caused by a calf injury. Despite leg pain on the second lap, the runner finished and met family at the finish.

Getting to the start

No public transit; private car only. Start/finish is atop the bluffs at Human Powered Trails, La Crosse, WI (look for the large white weather ball).

Directions from I-90: Hwy 16 W (becomes Losey Blvd) ~5 miles, left on Main St, onto Bliss Road ~2 miles, left on County Road FA. Rural US trail race — plan on renting a car; no airport/train/bus connects directly to the venue.

Getting to the finish

Same venue as start (loop course). Parking is on-street near the main parking lot.
