From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I enjoyed every single second of this race (OK except for the causeway segment).”At the Isle of Wight Marathon, the runner endured wind, rain and late climbs to finish in 3 hours 21 minutes 12 seconds. They improved their previous time at the race by 30 minutes and enjoyed being able to race again.
“Completing a training run marathon was very satisfying.”After dealing with early muscle tightness and toe discomfort, the runner enjoyed the country roads and coastal views. The runner alternated between running and walking on the final hill and finished in 4:42.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

The Isle of Wight Marathon is a single-lap road race along the roads of the western Isle of Wight in southern England.
Organized by Ryde Harriers, it starts in Cowes and links the island's small villages and countryside.
The official course description highlights the relatively quiet western roads and rolling terrain.
Town stretches alternate with country lanes, so you see both the island's villages and its farmland on one course.
Course runs from Cowes via Gurnard, Rew Street and Porchfield toward Shalfleet and Yarmouth.
It then passes Thorley, Chessell and Ningwood before returning through Shalfleet and Porchfield and reaching Cowes via Northwood.
Rather than repeating a loop, it's one big course across the west of the island.
The road is far from flat, rising and falling between villages.
It is run as a road race with course distance certified by South of England Athletics.
The race is one of the longest-running events in British marathon history.
It's also tied to the early history of women's distance running: organizers note that Dale Greig ran it on a measured course under official race conditions.
The race later opened official entry to women and has hosted the British women's marathon championships.
That legacy of the women's marathon, still present in today's race on the island's roads, is central to the event's history.

Details of Wightlink's race-linked ferry offer are sent after registration, so check what you receive.
Once on the island, head to the Isle of Wight Community Club on Park Road, Cowes, to collect bib and timing chip on race day.
The venue has changing rooms, showers and bag storage.
Free parking at the finish venue is limited, and the official guide also points to nearby on-street parking.
Leave enough time after parking to check in and drop your bag.
Water is the only drink provided on course.
Toilets are provided by partner businesses along the route: the New Inn in Shalfleet, Chessell Pottery Cafe, Porchfield Cricket Club and the Traveller's Joy.
There's no extra signage, and Chessell's cafe requires leaving course, so check the locations in advance and know how to get back onto course afterward.

so confirm locations and procedures for the next edition against the new participant information.
