The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
TucsonTHE DREAM
This is the Garmin Marathon Series Tucson.
The course has been redesigned with runners in mind.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 4:43:53.”David ran the 1,493-foot downhill course at the 2025 Tucson Marathon. He wrote that he followed the 3:40 pace group early on, but his pace dropped later as the course flattened out and the heat combined with sparse aid stations.
“The energy around the start line was absolutely awesome.”The runner took on a first marathon and finished in 4:25:38 after the cold start and the long downhill section followed by climbs in the second half.
“Wow, I did that.”stinky_scribe finished their first marathon at the 2023 Tucson Marathon in 3:59:51. They started by holding back the pace, then naturally sped up after the halfway point. After the climb around mile 24 and a final sprint, they broke 4 hours with friends cheering them on, and said the course was quiet but beautiful and mostly downhill — one they'd recommend.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2025 editionGarmin Marathon Tucson is part of the Garmin Marathon Series and takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
This year's course is a new course with the start and finish in the same place.
Runners start around sunrise at the intersection of Cushing St. and Stone Avenue near the Tucson Convention Center,
head east along Cushing Street, and pass through the Barrio Libre neighborhood and the Five Points intersection.
The course alternates between city streets and desert sections.
On the desert side, the Tucson Mountains open up in wide views as runners pass along Anklam Rd, the Greasewood Road area and the edge of Tucson Mountain Park.
On the city side, the route follows Speedway Boulevard past the University of Arizona campus,
then through the older neighborhoods around Reid Park and along Broadway Boulevard.
The course has gentle rolling hills throughout, with a full marathon total elevation gain of 694 feet.
It is a USATF-certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifier, so it draws many runners chasing a time.
The half marathon, 10K and 5K are held on the same day.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Runners collect their bibs at the Tucson Race Expo before the race.
Start is at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave, downtown Tucson.
Tucson has no subway/heavy rail;
Most out-of-town/foreign runners would use rideshare/taxi/hotel walk.
Finish line festival is on North Granada Avenue, also downtown near the Convention Center.
No official runner shuttle bus found in available race materials.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The marathon, half marathon and 10K start at 6:30 AM, and the 5K at 6:50.
There is no race-day pickup and no mail delivery for the bib,
so it must be collected in person at the expo at the Tucson Convention Center on Friday,
November 6, from 2 to 7 PM, or on Saturday the 7th from 9 AM to 7 PM.
Someone else can collect it for you with a copy of your photo ID or your registration confirmation.
There are no assigned start corrals;
runners line up in the area matching their expected pace.
Only the one clear bag handed out at the expo can be checked, and no other bags are accepted.
Aid station are located every 1 to 2 miles, with Gatorade at many of them and Maurten gels at some points on the marathon and half marathon.
The time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon.
After finishing, runners can get food and beer at the finish festival on Cushing Street west of the finish.
Easy shakeout runs around downtown also start from the convention center at 6 PM on Friday and 9 AM on Saturday.
Times are local to Tucson. Check the latest official information before the race.
