Panama City's coastal promenade is Cinta Costera and course passes through the historic district of Casco Viejo.

Due to the tropical heat and humidity, we leave early at 4 am.

Getting to the start

ATLAPA Convention Center, Panama City (San Francisco/Punta Paitilla area) — Metro Line 1 (Atlapa-I station, ~4 min walk) or MiBus lines C640/C941 (Atlapa-R stop, ~3 min walk)

The current official site is maratoninternacionaldepanama.com (the old maratonpanama.com domain is dead) (branded 'Maratón Internacional de Panamá'). Per 2024-2025 editions: 42K run as two laps starting 4:00am.

NOTE: venue has moved between editions (2022 started at InterContinental Miramar Hotel on Av. Balboa instead) — verify via official site closer to race date.

Course passes Vía Israel, the Cinta Costera, and Puente Torrijos-Carter/Puente de las Américas toward the Amador Causeway.

Vending machines at Metro stations, Travel Data Global booths at Tocumen Airport (near gates P2 and P5), and authorized kiosks around the city Works directly at the gates

Fares are flat and cheap: Metro $0.35/ride, Metrobus roughly $0.25-$0.75/ride. Cash is not accepted at turnstiles — card or contactless only.

On buses, remember to tap the validator again when exiting to preserve transfer discounts.

Expect tropical heat and humidity, so hydrate well and use the aid stations placed roughly every 1.5-2km along the course.

The marathon starts at 4:00 AM to beat the heat.
