THE DREAM
The Maratón Internacional de la Bandera is an international marathon held every June in Rosario, Argentina, around Argentina's Flag Day on 20 June.
Organized by the Rosario Athletics Association (ARDA), it was first staged in 2002.
The inaugural race had 1,300 entrants and 752 finishers;
the event has grown steadily since then, with about 4,000 runners, including roughly 250 from overseas, taking part in the 24th edition in 2026.
Course is certified by both World Athletics and AIMS and is considered the largest marathon held in an Argentine provincial city.
⚠️ “Maratón Internacional de Rosario” is the event's common name;
its current official name is “de la Bandera.”
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I walked again, then stopped. Rather than rushing to set off again, I decided to run very slowly.”
He sang and interacted with other runners, following the 3-hour-40-minute pacer after 31 km. When his calves grew heavy, he switched between walking and slow running to finish.

Volví a caminar, tomé la decisión de trotar muy despacio, sin desesperarme, lo cual era mejor decisión que parar y volver a comenzar.

Jorge Xavier completed the Rosario Marathon, their second full marathon, in 4 hours, 22 minutes, 30 seconds without repeating the mistakes of their debut. They improved on their result from 4 weeks earlier by 1 hour, 30 seconds and thanked the spectators and friends cheering before finish.
