The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
Start line and finish are both at the intersection of Avenida Figueroa Alcorta and Dorrego Street.
The event features a single 21km half marathon.
The inaugural race was held in 2009.
The one-hour barrier was broken in the 2018 edition, and the fastest time in the 2025 edition was 1 hour 0 minutes 24 seconds.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Running this race for the first time became a turning point in our journey, and we decided to keep running and take on marathons.”
Gabi and Dani ran the 2025 Buenos Aires Half Marathon. They managed the race at a controlled pace, with Dani recording 1 hour 42 minutes 27 seconds while Gabi maintained their marathon goal pace. They looked back on their first time taking part and how it became the reason they decided to keep running.

Start line is located at the intersection of Avenida Figueroa Alcorta and Avenida Dorrego, near the Palermo Woods.
Finish also returns to the same spot.
Course passes through iconic landmarks in the city center.
After passing the Planetarium and the Palermo Rose Garden (Rosedal), it continues along Avenida 9 de Julio,
home to the Teatro Colón and the Obelisk, and finishes in front of the Casa Rosada.
Overall, it is considered a flat and fast loop course.
Organized by the Argentine Athletics Federation since 1989, the event has served as the championship for selecting Argentina's men's and women's national teams four times each to date.
The men's course record is 58 minutes 29 seconds, set by Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo in 2025;
the women's record is 1 hour 5 minutes 58 seconds, set by Kenya's Ruth Chepng'etich in 2024.

Either buy a SUBE card (works on subte, buses, and suburban trains) or, since January 2025, just tap a contactless Visa or Mastercard directly at the gate — both work well for visiting runners.
Av. Figueroa Alcorta y Dorrego, Palermo — nearest Subte Línea D (sources vary: 'Palermo' ~1.3km/17min walk, or 'Scalabrini Ortiz'/'Plaza Italia')
Corral/start-village access 6:45-7:45am.
Colectivo lines 34, 37, 130, 160, 166 stop nearby but expect to walk the final ~1km+ since vehicle access is cut near the venue race morning.
same location as start — Av. Figueroa Alcorta y Dorrego (loop-back course)
Per prior edition, the finish/start zone saw total road closure from the afternoon before through mid-day of race day — no drop-off directly at the corner.
Confirmed for 2026: total closure of Av.
Figueroa Alcorta between Juramento and Monroe, 23:00 Sat-15:00 Sun.
No race-organized shuttle;
organizers/press point to Subte Línea D, colectivo, or ride-hailing (drop-off several blocks out due to closures).
Significant closures citywide Sat night through Sun midday across Palermo, Recoleta, Retiro, San Nicolás/microcentro, Montserrat, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo.
SUBE card
Kiosks (kioskos), most train and subway stations, and Correo Argentino post offices;
a kiosk in the Ezeiza International Airport arrivals hall also sells them.
Works directly at the gates
You'll need to show ID/passport and fill out a short form to get a SUBE card, and top-ups can be done at station machines or kiosks.
Since contactless bank cards and phone/watch NFC payments have been accepted directly on subte and buses since January 2025, many tourists now skip the card altogether —
check that your specific bank's card supports contactless.

The race starts at 8am in waves.
Because each wave has a different start time, check the start group shown on bib in advance.
Buenos Aires is in the Southern Hemisphere, so race day falls during the seasonal transition.
Cold air moving up from the south can cause a sharp drop in temperature, while warm, humid air from the north can make conditions hot and muggy.
The perceived temperature can vary considerably from year to year.
Course is a loop starting in the Palermo parks and passing city landmarks before returning,
so runners pass aid stations and the main spectator zones several times.
With plenty of flat running, it is considered a course that favours runners able to hold a steady pace.
Times are local to Buenos Aires. Check the latest official information before the race.
