THE DREAM
The Meia Maratona Loures–Odivelas is a half marathon linking the two municipalities of Loures and Odivelas in the northern suburbs of Lisbon.
Reviving athletics events held between the two cities in the 1980s and 1990s, it is jointly organized by the municipalities of Loures and Odivelas.
Alongside the 21 km half marathon, the event includes a 10 km run, a 5 km walk, and a Kids Run held the day before.
The course has received World Athletics international course-measurement certification, ensuring accurate distance.

Lisbon Metro 'Odivelas' (Linha Amarela / Yellow Line terminus), then local bus or ~15-20 min walk/taxi into Loures; nearest bus stop to the venue is 'R. República (Palácio da Justiça)', ~4-min walk
Start times: half marathon (21km) 9:00, 10km 9:45, 6km walk 9:30 — all from Parque Adão Barata, Loures. Reachable by Lisbon Metro plus a short bus/taxi/walk leg.
Same as start — Parque Adão Barata, Loures (reached via Metro Odivelas + bus/walk)
Loop course through Loures and Odivelas finishing back at Parque Adão Barata.
Lisbon Metro's Yellow Line currently terminates at Odivelas station — Loures itself has no metro stop yet.
The Lisbon area, including Odivelas, uses the rechargeable Viva Viagem card, sold for about 0.50 EUR at metro station vending machines, ticket offices, and newsstands, then loaded with single tickets or zonal passes covering metro, bus, tram and train. Contactless bank cards are not yet standard for fare payment, so picking up a Viva Viagem card is the recommended approach for race-day travel.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Late September in Loures and Odivelas is influenced by the Mediterranean climate of the Lisbon area.
The worst summer heat has eased, but daytime temperatures can still reach around 26–27°C,
and the wet season begins around this time, gradually increasing the chance of rain.
The course has gentle rises and descents without sharp elevation changes, so it requires more pace control than a flat course.
Both municipalities are close enough to central Lisbon by public transport that the logistics are relatively straightforward.
Times are local to Odivelas. Check the latest official information before the race.
