The SberPrime Moscow Marathon is Russia's largest marathon and began in 2013 as the successor to the Moscow International Peace Marathon.

It is an AIMS member race, and the 42.2km and 10km courses have certified measurements.

The organiser is the running community Begovoye Soobshchestvo.

Standard entry for Russian nationals,

with fees varying by registration period (4/14–6/18: 5500 rubles, 6/19–8/18: 6500 rubles, 9/23–25: 7500 rubles, anonymous bib)

A point-to-point course through central Moscow.

The race starts on Kosygina Street near Moscow State University (Sparrow Hills),

then follows the Moscow River embankment, the Garden Ring and the Boulevard Ring before crossing the Crimean Bridge.

It then heads down Tverskaya Street, passes beneath the Kremlin walls and runs past Moscow landmarks including the Stalinist skyscrapers,

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and Saint Basil’s Cathedral.

The finish will be located at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex.

Start packs are not distributed at all on race day or after the expo closes, so you must collect yours in advance.
If places remain, additional registration may be available at Expo for an extra fee.

Stations & transport near the venue

Buy a physical Troika card at any metro ticket window and load it with cash — do not count on your foreign Visa/Mastercard working at all, since foreign-issued cards have not worked on Moscow transit (or almost anywhere in Russia) since 2022 due to sanctions.

Vorobyovy Gory or Universitet (Moscow Metro Line 1, red line); alternative Lomonosovsky Prospekt (exit 5)

From Vorobyovy Gory, take exit toward Vorobyovskaya Embankment and Kosygina Street (start area near Moscow State University).

Getting to the finish

Vorobyovy Gory or Sportivnaya (Metro Line 1), or Luzhniki (MCC Line 14)

From Sportivnaya, follow signs to central entrance of Luzhniki Olympic Complex.

Metro ticket windows/kiosks, vending machines in stations, Aeroexpress counters at airports, and authorized newsstands

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above

Alternative: Edinyi (Unified) travel pass, loaded onto a Troika card 1 day: 415 RUB;

3 days: 800 RUB — Worth it if you'll take more than roughly 5-6 rides in a day;

otherwise the pay-as-you-go 'Kosheliok' option on the same Troika card is more flexible for a short trip.

More details

Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay also do not work with foreign cards in Russia.

A Troika card costs a 150 RUB deposit, refundable when returned in good condition.

This is a fast-changing sanctions situation — double-check current status close to your travel date.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Bib pickup takes place from September 24 to 26, three days before the race: 15:00–21:00 on the 24th, 10:00–21:00 on the 25th, and 10:00–19:00 on the 26th.

Race-day pickup is not available.

Bring identification and a medical certificate when collecting your bib;

submitted documents will not be returned.

The start/finish zone opens at 7:00 a.m., two hours before the start,

and the race begins at 9:00 a.m. The closest stations to the start are Vorobyovy Gory and Universitet on the metro.

Aid and refreshment stations are positioned throughout the course.

The finish time limit is 6 hours from each runner’s individual start.

Times are local to Moscow. Check the latest official information before the race.
