THE DREAM
This is a 14-mile course that starts at the horse camp in Owen-Putnam State Forest.
90% of the course is singletrack and horse trails, with a small amount of forest road mixed in.
The route runs from the start to the first aid station, loops around, and then returns along the same path.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“All in all a great race.”The runner endured cold and rough rocky trails at the OPSF 50-mile race in Owen-Putnam State Forest, finishing 3rd in 9 hours 18 minutes. Checking the route and moving slowly late on, the runner kept fueling to the end.
“It was a beautiful race day!”Pain from a foot cyst forced the runner to alter running form to finish the OPSF 50-mile race. Clear, cool weather and kind volunteers were enjoyable, but logging changes and dogs on the dark final stretch proved difficult.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.
