Getting to the start

None — Bussey Brake Wildlife Management Area is ~5 miles northwest of Bastrop, LA, off Bonner Ferry Road (LA Hwy 593); no bus/rail service.

Start/finish trailhead is near Bussey Brake Reservoir within the WMA; runners drive in and park on-site. Rural Louisiana Wildlife Management Area venue with no public transit; car access only.

Bussey Brake WMA, 5 miles northwest of Bastrop, off LA Hwy 593 (Bonner Ferry Road). Use the two parking lots (north and south) on the west side of Bussey Brake WMA.

Getting to the finish

Same as start — loop course around the reservoir finishes at the same trailhead.

50K, 16-Miler, and 8-Miler distances all use trails around the reservoir with aid stations.

Transit card

No dedicated transit card system serves Bastrop State Park; this is a car-access rural venue outside Austin with no public bus route. Cash/card is fine for any nearby parking or fuel purchases.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

The event offers 50K, 16-mile, and 8-mile distances.

Entry fees are $85, $75, and $55, respectively, plus fees.

Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on the Friday before race week, Central Time.

Military members and first responders, including firefighters and police officers, receive a 25% discount, while donors receive a 10% discount.

The 50K starts at 7:00 a.m.,

and the 16-mile and 8-mile races start at 8:00 a.m. Time limits are 12 hours for the 50K and 10 hours for the 16-mile and 8-mile races.

There are two aid stations.

Warm food is available at the start/finish, while the aid station around mile 4 provides ice, water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks.
