This is a marathon held in Pho Tak District, Nong Khai Province, in northern Thailand.

Both the start and finish are at the Ban Sun Klang roundabout, with an out-and-back course from that point.

Course follows rural district roads.

Since it's a small rural district far from downtown Nong Khai, there is no public transportation passing through the venue,

and Udon Thani International Airport, the nearest airport with scheduled flights, is about 80-90km away.

Typical race-season temperature: around 21°C (69°F): Short sleeves — hydrate for the warmth

Do not expect any public transit at all — arrange a private/hired vehicle, songthaew charter, or motorbike/car rental in advance, and carry cash for whatever informal transport you find.

Getting to the start

Start and finish are at the same rural roundabout venue in Pho Tak district.

Full Marathon starts very early, around 3:30 AM.

Small rural district well outside Nong Khai city, with no public transit serving the venue — runners need a private/hired vehicle.

Loop/out-and-back course finishing back at the start roundabout;

race-kit pickup also happens at this venue the day before (Sat 12 Dec 2026).

No free organizer shuttle found.

Third-party travel packages marketed to international runners include airport pickup/drop-off at Udon Thani International Airport,

hotel accommodation in Udon Thani, and private VIP transport to the start and back —

but this is a paid tour package, not a race-provided shuttle.

Nearest airport with regular flights (Udon Thani) is roughly 80-90km away.

Pho Tak is a genuinely small, rural minor district (amphoe) of Nong Khai province —

per Wikipedia, it consists of only 3 tambons/27 villages and has 'no municipal (thesaban) areas,' lacking even basic songthaew route networks.

It sits roughly 54 km / about 1 hour from Nong Khai city,

where shared vans can be hired for sightseeing at negotiated daily rates (roughly 1,000-2,000 baht/day, province-wide figure).

Plan on a hired car, rental motorbike, or pre-arranged pickup — no public transit appears to exist in a tourist-usable form.

Full Marathon (42km) starts at 03:30, Half Marathon (21km) at 04:30, 10km at 05:30, and the 5km Fun Run at 05:45.

Cutoff times are 7 hours for the full course, 4 hours for the half, and 2.5 hours for the 10km.

The route starts at Ban Suun Klang roundabout in Photak district, Nong Khai, and winds through rural countryside, villages, and forest.

Held in December, the race benefits from Nong Khai's cool, clear winter air.

Bib pickup is the day before the race, on Saturday, at the start-line roundabout.

There is no race-day registration, so runners must collect their packet during the designated pickup window in advance.
