The 2026 Presisi Merdeka Run is an Independence Day-themed road race held in Jambi, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

It is understood to be Jambi's local edition of the Merdeka Run movement, with races held across Indonesia around Independence Day on Aug 17 each year.

The event is known to have a government-led character, with officials from the Jambi Provincial Youth and Sports Office among those involved.

It is organized by the event agency Sumatera Satu.

This year's slogan is “satu langkah, sejauh perubahan” — “one step, as far as change” —

presenting the race as a community campaign for a greener, cleaner future rather than simply a competition for times.

The start is at Lapangan Garuda Jambi in Telanaipura, Jambi City.

A distinctive feature is the separate 5K student category, designed to encourage participation from local schools alongside the open categories.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.

The race distances are 5K Student, 5K Open, 10K, and 21K(half marathon),

with Entry fee reportedly priced at around IDR 175,000, IDR 250,000, IDR 350,000, and IDR 450,000, respectively (according to a local Jambi information outlet;

subject to change).

The race is understood to start at 6:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time) on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Race pack (bib, jersey, etc.) collection was announced in two sessions: 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. on August 7, two days before the race,

and 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on August 8, the day before.

Transmart Jambi and other locations in Jambi city were mentioned as collection venues,

but the final location should be reconfirmed in the official race announcement.

All participants receive a jersey, finisher finisher medal, and bib(BIB), while a jacket is additionally provided only to half marathon participants.
