Why you dream of this race

THE DREAM

About Prom'classic — what makes it special

ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

A 10km out-and-back race along Nice’s Promenade des Anglais.

This flat course beside the Mediterranean, with only 35m of elevation gain, is one of France’s most popular 10Ks.

A New Year speed race for 15,000 runners, with discounted bib selling out in 15 minutes.

The road to your own record

Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

When the city cheers

Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.

The trip that follows the run

Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.

Race reports: 1
Lisa LouviotRan in 2017 · Finish time 0:43:49
“I set a personal best.”

An overly fast start at the Prom'Classic 10km led to a sharp slowdown at 7–8km. Rallying over the last 2km brought a personal best of 43 minutes 49 seconds, though the uneven pace was frustrating.

Someone else may collect bib on your behalf by presenting a copy of the participant’s ID (and, if not previously submitted, the FFA license and medical certificate).

race village

Stations & transport near the venue

Buy and load 'La Carte' (the anonymous rechargeable card, €2 refundable deposit) at a ticket machine or the Lignes d'Azur Tickets app, since — unlike Marseille — you cannot yet tap a foreign bank card directly on the validator.

Getting to the start

Nice tramway Line T1, Masséna stop (~6 min walk to start/village area)

Race village and bib pickup are at the Kiosque à musique / Théâtre de Verdure in Jardin Albert 1er, adjacent to Promenade des Anglais.

The Masséna tram stop is the nearest transit stop.

Drivers can also use the 'parking Gare Thiers' (12 Av.

Thiers, 06000 Nice, €6 race day), near Nice-Ville train station.

Race date 2027-01-10 confirmed via secondary sources since the official promclassic.com site is currently showing an under-maintenance placeholder for the 2027 edition.

Start time approx 9:00 AM per secondary source.

Getting to the finish

Nice tramway Line T1, Masséna stop (same area — out-and-back course)

Course is an out-and-back on the Promenade des Anglais, so finish is in the same Jardin Albert 1er / Quai des États-Unis area as the start.

More details

No organizer shuttle bus found;

access is via Nice's public tram (T1) or the Gare Thiers parking lot.

La Carte (anonymous, shareable, rechargeable) / Ma Carte (personalized version)

Lignes d'Azur sales points, ticket vending machines (incl.

all tram stops), Nice train station (Libération) counter, or the 'Lignes d'Azur Tickets' mobile app

Alternative: Pass Sud Azur Explore (regional multimodal pass — train+tram+bus across Alpes-Maritimes & Monaco) €35 (3 days) / €50 (7 days) / €80 (14 days) —

Worth it if combining Nice with day trips to Cannes/Antibes/Monaco by train;

for just riding city buses/trams during a race weekend, a single ticket (€1.70, 74-min transfer) is cheaper.

More details

Do not assume Nice works like Marseille — you must obtain a card or app ticket before boarding;

on-board card readers are for buying/loading tickets, not open-loop EMV tap payment.

Credit cards/checks are not accepted directly on buses.

A Feb 2025 citizen proposal explicitly asked the city to add open-loop bank-card tap payment because it doesn't exist yet.

READY TO RUN

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

This 10K along Nice’s Promenade des Anglais is considered one of the most heavily subscribed races in France.

Based on the previous year’s 2026 event, participation grew to around 15,000 runners.

The first 1,000 entrants received a special €19 rate, after which prices increased in stages.

The race is popular enough that the special-rate allocation reportedly sold out just 15 minutes after registration opened.

Bib pickup took place in the afternoon two days before the race, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.,

and the timed chrono category started at 9:00 a.m. The entry fee includes a bib, aid and refreshments, and various commemorative items.

Held along the Nice coast every year in early January, it is also known for offering runners a chance to race in mild Mediterranean winter weather.

Times are local to Nice. Check the latest official information before the race.
