More details

Getting to the start

None — no public transit

Venue: Settlers Cabin Park, 608 Ridge Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 (Allegheny County park). All distances (50K, 25K, 8-miler, 5K) start at Algonquin Shelter within the park.

Some third-party aggregators list a different earlier running of a similarly-named event, but the official source is authoritative here. Suburban Pittsburgh county park with no nearby transit station.

Getting to the finish

None — no public transit

All distances finish at Algonquin Shelter, same location as start.

Transit card

ReadyFare card (replacing ConnectCard through 2026)

Fare Vending Machines at 36+ stations/stops, the PRT Downtown Service Center (Smithfield St.), or select retail outlets Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above

Alternative: 1-Day Pass $7 (single ride cash fare is $2.75, unlimited transfers within 3 hours) — Worth it if you'll take 3+ rides in a day (e.g. shuttling to/from an expo and start line); otherwise pay per-ride.

PRT is mid-transition from the old ConnectCard to the new ReadyFare system through 2026, so signage/machines may be inconsistent. Apple/Google/Samsung Pay wallet purchases are supported at the Downtown Service Center and via the Ready2Ride app, but that's for buying fare, not necessarily an open-loop tap of your own bank card at the vehicle validator.

Pittsburgh is served by Pittsburgh Regional Transit, currently transitioning from the ConnectCard to a new ReadyFare card system through 2026 (ConnectCards still work during the transition). Flat fare is $2.75 for unlimited rides within a 3-hour window; tap your card or scan the Ready2Ride app QR code to board.

Settlers Cabin Park itself is a suburban regional park best reached by car.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Average temperature: 16°C — Pittsburgh in May offers favorable conditions for runners.

The key factor is the waiting time before the start.

If your body cools down before you start, you will spend the first 5km just warming up.

The event venue is in an area without public transportation.

Plan to travel by private car or rental car.

Registration is handled through the RunSignup platform.

In an ultramarathon, the outcome depends not on speed but on fueling and foot care.

Break in your shoes and socks thoroughly before the race, and if there are nighttime sections, bring spare headlamp batteries.

The start is at 08:30. Registration is open through 22 May 2027.

Times are local to Pittsburgh. Check the latest official information before the race.
