amandajeren enjoyed the music and atmosphere of the Strip at night at the 2024 Las Vegas Rock 'n' Roll half marathon. The wait at the start was long, and after rolling her ankle around mile 9.5, she walked the final 2 miles to the finish.

“It was really cool running along the strip, and the crowds were fun!”

The runner completed the 2023 Las Vegas half marathon in 1 hour 48 minutes 31 seconds, achieving their goal. They appreciated the views of the Strip and Fremont Street, the plentiful water stations and the well-organised volunteers. The wait at the start and the headwind and uphill sections at the end were challenging.

This night race takes runners along the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street and is known as the only race that closes and reopens the Las Vegas Strip.

The 2027 race weekend is scheduled for February 20–21.

The organizers also list Strip Yoga and a Saturday runner party, so you can plan a weekend that includes events beyond the race.

Live bands, DJs and Las Vegas performances continue along the course, which is a distinctive feature of this race.

Getting to the start

Las Vegas Blvd. at New York-New York (Half Marathon & 10K start); 5K starts Downtown at 4th St and Bridger Ave

No dedicated shuttle bus to the start is listed.

Official guidance: use the Las Vegas Monorail, or arrange parking near the Strip hotels close to the start village.

Monorail discount fares are offered for race weekend.

Getting to the finish

Las Vegas Blvd. at The Bellagio (Half Marathon & 10K finish); 5K finishes on Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas

No shuttle service to an after-party is listed.

Official guidance: park at any hotel near the finish and take the Monorail to the MGM Grand station,

then use the pedestrian bridge to New York-New York to get back toward the start village.

More details

Most road closures and detours on race Sunday are in effect between 2:00pm and 11:00pm,

with streets reopening on a rolling basis once the last participant and course materials have passed.

Using the Waze app is recommended to avoid closures.

The Deuce/Strip single ride $4, standard local single ride ~$2 —

Since single-ride taps aggregate and cap automatically over a 24-hour period from your first tap, a pre-bought day pass usually isn't necessary —

just tap your bank card each ride and let it auto-cap.

RTC's own newsroom confirms system-wide EMV open-loop acceptance: RTC transit customers can pay with their debit/credit cards,

mobile wallet, or smart watch, across RTC's entire bus network including The Deuce.

Not applicable to the privately-run Las Vegas Monorail, which uses its own separate ticketing.

Cash is still accepted on board with exact change.

Spots go fast, so register early during presale, and keep in mind that it's a February evening race, so it gets chilly after dark.

Attach your gear-check tag to the event bag and pick it up before the finish festival ends.

The finish secure area is for participants only, and once you leave, you can't get back in.

Don't count on friends getting into that area—pick a meeting spot outside it.
