The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
This track race takes place on Melbourne’s Albert Park F1 Grand Prix circuit.
The 5km, 10km, and half marathon events all run on the flat, officially certified course around the Grand Prix track.
Runners get to cover the same surface once used by racing cars—this really is “Run Prix.”
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The 10km race itself was a fast, flat double loop of Albert Park.”The runner entered the 2023 Run Prix 10K as a training run and finished in 58:32. The wide course and wave starts made it easy to pass people, and they liked being able to grab water three times. They also rated the toilets, bag storage, and finish-line food highly.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

From the 2026 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
Run Prix is a road running competition held at Melbourne's Albert Park Grand Prix circuit.
The conditions repeatedly stated in the official introduction are course that the road is fast, flat, and smooth.
The same circuit is run a different number of times for each event, with half marathon being four laps, 10km being about two laps, and 5km being one lap.
Since it is a race where the shape of the road repeats, the circuit around the lake itself becomes the stage for the race.
The 10km race is divided into a free race run by participants who meet the recording standards and a general open race.
The free division focuses on being able to run with fast participants while course is empty.
Even if you run the same distance, the participation methods in the competitive and open categories are different.
Half marathon and regular 10km and 5km do not require free race record qualifications,
and for the two short events, participation including walking is also encouraged.
Course is introduced as having been measured and certified in accordance with AIMS standards.
The explanation that it is a flat road with no sharp hairpin curves also appears in the wheelchair participation information.
In the free division, the top male and female athletes compete for prize money, and separate awards are provided for the half marathon and 5km.
Competitions by distance and category continue within the same event.
The nature of Run Free is to combine fast 10km competitions with open distance events while utilizing the smooth roads of a motor racing circuit for running.
Not yet confirmed in the official race guide
This may change for the next edition.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
This is an AIMS-certified half marathon, 10km and 5km event held on an F1 circuit.
Check the official website for Packet Pickup instructions.
Just tap your own contactless Visa/Mastercard or phone (Apple Pay/Google Pay) directly on the myki readers — as of mid-2026 this works across all Melbourne trains, trams, and buses, so you don't need to buy a myki card at all.

myki (still usable, but no longer necessary for tourists)
7-Eleven stores, premium myki retailers, and myki machines at stations, if you still want a physical card
Works directly at the gates
Victoria's tap-and-go contactless rollout completed across trains (mid-June 2026), trams (June 21, 2026),
and buses (by July 26, 2026), so the whole network now accepts foreign bank cards and phones directly.
Fares are automatically calculated and capped daily, same as myki.
Melbourne uses the myki card for trains, trams and buses, purchasable at station vending machines, 7-Eleven stores, newsagents, or online.
Contactless bank cards (tap and go) and mobile wallets are already accepted on some services, with full contactless rollout across the network from 2026.
A single myki fare in Melbourne is typically a few dollars depending on zone and time of day.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The event headquarters and Packet Pickup are gathered in the finals area of the Lakeside Stadium parking lot.
You can pick up bib the day before or the morning of the competition,
and if you want to pick up something for someone else, you'll need to bring an official proxy pick up form.
Attach a removable baggage tag bib to the bag you wish to store and leave it at the large tent nearby finish.
Restrooms are also concentrated in the final area of this parking lot and are also located at the Ross Gregory Drive aid station.
Organizers recommend public transportation, and the nearest stop is on the 96 tram/light rail line.
It is difficult to use most of the parking areas in the park due to road restrictions,
so parking on the north side of Albert Road or west side of Canterbury Road and access to the underground passage are indicated.
The Light Street underground passage is presented as a direct route to the event venue.
In loop races, two water points near Ross Gregory Drive and the finish are available every lap and provide water and sports drink.
Participants who miss the road reopening time of half marathon will complete the remaining distance on an alternative route centered on the walking path around the lake.
Times are local to Melbourne. Check the latest official information before the race.
