The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
Start line is held at the Olympic Legacy Bridge on the University of Utah campus.
It starts at the foothills just above 4,800 feet above sea level, runs through downtown Salt Lake City, and finish is in downtown.
Full marathon and half marathon start simultaneously from the same start line.
The event features five races: the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 1K Kids.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“We crossed the finish line in 4:28, hitting our primary goal of finishing under 4:30!”The runner completed their first marathon with their spouse in 4 hours 27 minutes 58 seconds. The runner made up time on the early downhill sections, took fluids and gels, and achieved the goal of finishing within 4 hours 30 minutes by prioritising running together at the end.
“The course is really nice.”In their first marathon, they encountered snow just before the start and sleet and freezing rain after mile 16. In the high altitude and severe weather, they lowered their pace and finished.
“All in all, I consider this to be a successful first marathon.”The runner completed the 2022 Salt Lake City Marathon, the runner's first full marathon, in 4 hours 25 minutes 22 seconds. Although the runner experienced elevations above 4,000 feet, snow and sleet, and strong headwinds, the runner said the course connecting the mountains and the city and the support around the finish line left a strong impression.
“The second half of the marathon was pretty boring scenery wise.”Supercords finished the 2010 Salt Lake City Marathon in 3:45:05. After an early downhill stretch, the second half brought a long, gentle climb and strong sun. As the pain and fatigue built from the halfway point on, they walked through the aid stations to take on fluids, then used the massage tent and grabbed recovery food after crossing the line.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
6 hours 30 minutes (half marathon 4 hours)
a different location from the start (point-to-point, net downhill course of approximately 650 feet).
Finish · Google MapsCourse starts at the Olympic Legacy Bridge on the University of Utah campus.
The starting elevation is just above 4,800 feet (approximately 1,460 m) above sea level, then the route descends from the foothills toward lower elevations.
The half marathon section is generally flat or downhill.
Full marathon and half marathon take place simultaneously and use the same start line at the Olympic Legacy Bridge.
Course passes through downtown Salt Lake City and the northern Salt Lake Valley, with views of the nearby foothills and the Wasatch Mountains.
After the halfway point, course follows the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains into residential areas of the neighboring cities of Millcreek and Holladay,
then continues along Salt Lake City streets toward major roads near downtown finish.
A bike tour is held on the same day from the same course;
it starts earlier than the marathon, and time limit is 1 hour 45 minutes.
The inaugural event was held in 2004.
A bike tour was added in 2005, followed by half marathon in 2006.
That year, the event moved from April to June before returning to April in 2007.
The 2027 event will be the 24th edition.
