THE DREAM
It will take place in Sheffield, England, on April 4, 2027.
It is the largest half marathon in South Yorkshire.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Despite this, it was great to do my hometown half, the support was brilliant and I got a high five and cheer from my eldest little one.”Laura Allen ran the Sheffield Half Marathon in her hometown in 2025, finishing in 1:28:57 and placing 2nd in FV40. She got through the big early climb at a steady pace, then pushed harder in the second half. The final 4 to 5 miles were tough, but the crowd support gave her a major boost.
“There's one more short climb before the route finally flattens out with some glorious views back down into Sheffield.”EvilDave2112 took part in the 2023 Sheffield half marathon and finished in 1 hour 36 minutes 2 seconds. After the early climbs, EvilDave2112 increased the pace on the downhill section, maintained the time to the finish, and set a personal best.
“I had finished the race in 02:03:01.”The author ran the Sheffield half marathon, endured the uphill course, and finished in 2:03:01.
“I had finished the race in 02:03:01.”The runner experienced a long uphill section during the first 5 miles and hot weather at the Sheffield Half Marathon, where 10,000 participants ran. The downhill section and the support helped the runner keep going, and the runner finished in 2 hours 3 minutes 1 second.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

City-centre start-and-finish course (reportedly changed from Don Valley Stadium)
The start and finish are both in central Sheffield, and the start line is Arundel Gate.
The course continues uphill towards Ringinglow, with views across the Peak District.
This section hosts Peaks Challenge, a timed hill climb, and the downhill sprint section of the 10K begins from Hathersage Road.
The half marathon requires you to conserve energy on the uphill sections and control your pace on the descents.
The event is the largest running event in South Yorkshire, attracting thousands of runners of different abilities.
It is organised by Run For All and forms part of its non-profit event programme, which continues Jane Tomlinson CBE's work and charitable spirit.
Run For All grew from the first Leeds 10K and now organises several events, including half marathon 6.
Participants must be at least 17 years old.
