The distances are fractions of a marathon: a half marathon of 13.1 miles,
a 3/8 marathon of 9.825 miles, a quarter marathon of 6.55 miles and an 1/8 marathon of 3.275 miles.
The setting is Fred G. Bond Metro Park in Cary.
The course combines dirt paths, grass, paved roads and natural trails, with hills ranging from moderate to substantial.
The events start at different times and are released sequentially.

RACE WEEK

The course surface varies, combining dirt paths, grass, paved paths, and natural trails, with moderate to major hills throughout.
Conditions depend on the weather in the days leading up to the race.
There are four distances: 3.275 miles, 6.55 miles, 9.825 miles, and 13.1 miles.
Course is not USATF-certified, and the organizers note that GPS apps cannot measure the distance accurately.
Distance markers for course are installed based on ground measurements following the shortest route from start line or finish.

GoCary local buses run in Cary generally, but no route/stop directly serving this park was confirmed on the race page. Suburban car-oriented park; no organizer transit info provided.

Cary, NC is served by GoCary local buses, which remain fare-free through June 30, 2026, so no transit card purchase is needed to ride. Regional GoTriangle buses also connect Cary to Raleigh and Durham; visitors should check gocary.org for current fare status closer to travel dates in case free fares expire.

Starts are staggered by event.
The 1/2 Marathon and 3/8 Marathon start between 07:00 and 07:15, the 1/4 Marathon between 07:15 and 07:30, and the 1/8 Marathon between 07:45 and 08:00.
Start line closes at 08:00, and course closes at 10:00.
Start times may change due to weather or safety concerns.
Bib pickup and check-in are also organized by event: 1/2 Marathon from 06:00 to 07:00, 3/8 Marathon from 06:45 to 07:15, 1/4 Marathon from 07:00 to 07:30, and 1/8 Marathon from 07:15 to 07:45.
A photo ID is required, and another participant may pick up your materials if they have a photo or copy of your ID.
Even with advance pickup, the timing chip must be collected separately on race day.
Same-day registration is available from 07:00 to 07:45, and online registration closes at 21:00 on August 20.
This is a summer race.
The organizers advise participants to review hydration and heat-illness information before racing and to train for the expected climate conditions.
Course has one aid station aid station, with water also available near finish.
An athletic trainer is stationed at the medical tent near finish.
Many participants carry their own drinks and nutrition.
Dogs and bicycles are not allowed on course.
Parking is available by the Kiwanis Shelter, Challenge course Shelter, boathouse, and senior center.
Parking is not available at the community center on race day.
Entry fee costs $80 for the 1/2 Marathon, $70 for the 3/8 Marathon, $60 for the 1/4 Marathon,
and $50 for the 1/8 Marathon, with prices increasing after 21:00 on August 20.
