Runners start at the entrance to Shibutami Sports Park in Morioka and finish inside the park.

Start times vary by event: half marathon at 9:00 a.m., the 3km between 9:10 and 9:16, and the 10km at 9:50.

Organizers describe it as a course that follows the Tamayama Road, with views of Mount Himekami and Mount Iwate.

Mount Iwate is also known as Nanbu-Katafuji.

The three events are divided into 27 age- and school-year categories.

The 3km also has a separate pairs category.

The 2026 race will be the 36th edition and will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the merger of Morioka City and Tamayama Village,

Shibutami Station (渋民駅, IGR Iwate Ginga Railway line)

Venue is Shibutami Sports Park in Morioka's Tamayama area.

General public/staff parking is directed to 'Aeon Shibutami'.

Half marathon starts at 9:00 a.m., with time limit set at 2 hours 30 minutes.

The 10km starts at 9:50 a.m. and has a 1-hour 30-minute limit.

Registration and race administration take place at Shibutami Sports Park.

Hours are 1:00–5:00 p.m. on the day before the race and 7:15–8:25 a.m. on race day.

The opening ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m.

Entry fees are 4,000 yen for general entrants, 2,000 yen for high-school students and 1,300 yen for elementary and junior-high students.

The general-entry fee for the 3km is 2,000 yen, while the pairs category costs 4,000 yen.

Registration runs from June 1 to August 23, 2026;

the deadline was extended from the original July 31 date.

Entries can be submitted online through RUNNET or by taking the designated entry form, with the entry fee attached, to a post office.

Entry is limited to healthy amateur athletes.

Runners who cannot complete the course alone may be accompanied by one support runner.

Guide dogs and wheelchair entries are not accepted.

Entrants below high-school age need parental consent.

All entrants receive a Takuboku-logo T-shirt as their race gift.
