ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

This is half marathon, held in the southern Italian spa town of Telese Terme.

The route passes through the town center and Lake Telese, then runs by the Telesea archaeological site, with its Roman-era walls, and a Norman abbey.

As an IAAF- and AIMS-certified Category A course, it produces an officially recognized time and combines thermal baths, history, and a 21K course.

The runner took part with reduced training volume and struggled with the heat and a lack of water stations late in the race. They drank water from a fountain along the way and finished in 1:34, enjoying the generous selection of food.

The course crosses through the town of Telese Terme and continues to Lago di Telese.

It then passes through a green stretch heading toward San Salvatore Telesino,

going by the Telesia Vetere archaeological site with its surviving Roman-era walls, a Norman monastery, and near Grassano Nature Park.

The course is IAAF/AIMS-certified as a Category A course, so times from this race count toward national rankings.
